Miriam occasionally thinks of what is real and what is not as she prepares
for her wedding
Miriam reviews her facts and lies:
-
I was raped and defiled, but no one knows, except Mother.
-
I had a child, but only my distant cousins know this; and they think I was a
widow; and that the child died of a fever at one year old.
-
My child was too young to know me when I gave him to Orna’s family; and they
do not know he is mine.
-
Mother was prepared to tell Yaacov I was dead, but did not have to, because
I returned home and told her I had never had the child at all.
-
I am not dead.
-
Yaacov is coming home.
-
I will be married to my love.

Miriam is not a born liar and must review who knows what, now & again to keep
her life straight. She develops and sectors off a portion of her mind to keep this
information in line over the years to come.
