Scenes – young Miriam seeking religious guidance from her spiritual resources, peers who are trained in the scriptures. She is comfortable talking with them, but afraid to talk with father, due to her mother’s cautious inhibitions.
Miriam with Yaacov. He is sympathetic, but also yields to the traditional faith. Discussing religious issues, Jesus teachings, and their context in the
scriptures. Miriam repeats what she has heard at Orna’s house, and her
experience with the miracles – Refaela’s healing and the loaves. Miriam is
clearly perplexed about these matters, deeply interested, and touched by the
Nazarene. Ř Jesus said He is the way the truth and the light and to follow him. He breaks laws and traditions. How are we to follow him? Do we ignore the temple and priests?
